Our Beliefs

Ivanrest Church is part the Christian Reformed Church denomination. The denomination has about 300,000 members in 1,000 congregations across the United States and Canada. 1   It is often called "the CRC" for short. 2

Why call it the Christian Reformed Church?

Christian because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers. We recognize all people who accept the teachings of the Holy Bible as summarized in the Apostles' Creed as fellow-Christians and brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ.

Reformed because we're part of that historic branch of the Christian church that follows the teachings of 16th-century reformer John Calvin, who struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots.  We are also reforming our own lives as we challenge each other to live more and more godly every day.

Church because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world.  We are a community of believers challenging and encouraging each other in our walk with Jesus.
